Tourism in New Jersey

New Jersey is one of the most renowned states as far as tourism is concerned, over the years, several new buildings were erected and modernized, and it is now a prime tourist destination, especially when compared to some other states like Virginia or Alabama. Numerous theme parks, waterparks, safaris, zoos and other entertainment facilities line the state of NJ, state of the art hotels also compliment the variety of entertainment venues to choose from to ensure a delightful stay when you are on holiday.

Theme parks and water parks cover most of the entertainment centres in New Jersey, theme parks of note include the Six Flags Great Adventure, which is the largest and most populated park also featuring one of the largest safaris and a water park in one place. Morey's piers is also a park of note as it is one of the largest parks built on the seaside and has over 5 dozen rides and a couple of water parks.

Several parks with lush greenery also cover much of the state and is ideal for an evening of relaxation, the parks usually comprise of a certain feature like extensive wildlife or availability of numerous outdoor activities like fishing and golf. The Great Swamp National Wildlife Refuge Park for example comprises of over 200 species of birds among several other animals. Wheaton village displays an array of impressive pottery and wood carving.

For the folk looking for some inspiration, there are several museums to visit throughout the state, popular museums to consider visiting would be the Thomas Edison Lab, providing an insight to Thomas Edison’s work and comprises of millions of documents and thousands of photographs from old times. The Old Barracks museum consists of artifacts and objects from the war that plagues Trenton in the 18th century.

The Great Falls in Paterson is another spectacular sight in the state of New Jersey, it also holds an important place in history as the water was used to generate power. New Jersey is also a noted destination for people who indulge in fishing. The Delaware river is a popular spot for anglers.

New Jersey is also home to the World acclaimed venue known as the Giants Stadium, named after the popular Football team, it contributed to a good portion of the state’s commerce, as year after year fans flocked in with tickets selling out at an immense pace when games were played.
